Undergraduate Students
Interested in social psychology? Want to gain research experience before applying to graduate school? We're always looking for motivated and hard-working students to join the lab as research assistants. As a research assistant, you'll gain first-hand experience on tasks such as gathering and preparing materials, conducting literature reviews, and collecting, entering, and analyzing data. There may also be opportunities to present your work at psychology conferences and publish in scientific journals.
Working as a research assistant helps you develop a variety of marketable skills, such as the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team. As an added benefit, you'll be eligible for a letter of recommendation. I tend to write letters for students I know particularly well through collaborations in my lab. Indeed, many of my research assistants have gone on to graduate school in psychology or related fields, using their experiences in my lab as a mainspring for achieving their professional goals.
If you're interested in joining the Social Psychology Lab, please submit an application! There are opportunities to volunteer or to earn course credit (e.g., PSYC 4175).
